How can I prepare my child?

While some youngsters eagerly anticipate the start of school, others might feel a bit uneasy about adapting to new rules and routines. Ease this transition with these helpful tips to prepare both you and your child for a seamless entry into Kindergarten.

  • Open Dialogue on Feelings: Encourage your child to express their emotions. Discuss the exciting new experiences awaiting them in Pre Kindergarten, fostering anticipation and enthusiasm.

  • Reading Together: Share stories in your child's first language. This not only enhances brain function but also improves listening skills, sparking their imagination and sense of wonder.

  • The Power of Play: Embrace play as a gateway to creativity and enjoyment. Through play, your child not only has fun but also hones problem-solving, numeracy, and literacy skills.

  • Nurturing Friendships: Facilitate social connections with friends and family. These interactions provide valuable opportunities for your child to develop social skills, self-esteem, and compassion.

  • Community Exploration: Venture into your community—visit the public library, museums, or attend special events. These experiences contribute to expanding your child's vocabulary and communication skills.

  • Nature's Classroom: Explore natural surroundings like parks, fostering a calming environment that promotes curiosity and physical well-being.

  • Routine Reinforcement: Establish consistent routines to instil a sense of predictability. Such routines empower your child, fostering independence, responsibility, and confidence throughout their Kindergarten journey.
